I just downloaded and starting playing around with Tidal.

As we all know, recordings are not created equal. Some will be far better than others and I hope some of you are willing to point me to some of the best available on Tidal. Album or song title.

You are using High Fidelity version of Tidal? It's the more expensive.

Van Morrison's, Your Driving Me Crazy is good if you like his voice and some Jazz.

Marquise Knox has an album with some other players that is 96kHz.

If your Tidal is on computer or MQA compatible, there is a "Master" list that shows all the MQA titles which in some instances can be higher resolution even though your DAC may not be MQA compatible. Has something to do with partial unfolding of the file.

The Eva Cassidy is good. Really there is a lot that's decent, the stuff that I find not so good is like 80's Rock or Pop.

If you like Classic Rock, look for the Steven Wilson remixes, Yes, Jethro Tull and Chicago is what I remember, typically very good.

I recommend adding albums you like and sound good to "My Music" for quick access next time you want it.

Any genre you listen to the most?

Its not easy to point you in the right direction , without knowing what music you like.
But one thread that can bring up a lot of interesting new artists are called " what are you listening to tonight "
I personally have found so many new artist that i never knew i liked. And the great thing is you can just try it out if its not for you it does not cost anything .... not like buying CD´s or LP´s
I am currently listening to Fink Wheels Turn Beneath my Feet , i think it a good recording.
Joni Mitchell Both Sides Now
Melody Gardot Live in Europe

Am sure others know much more than i do. :)

In Tidal, search for a playlist named:
Computer Audiophile 100

The tracks in that collection sound great. It contains different genres too.

Thanks everyone, and keep them coming

For context, I am using a Lumin X1 as source so I can play any format out there. My Tidal subscription is indeed the Hi-Res version so I have wandered through the "Masters" a bit but haven't found anything great.

I have no real preference for music other than it being a little more upbeat. I dont listen to music to fall asleep.

In other words, what track have you listened to or stumbled upon that you immediately thought "WOW"

My suggestion is that you should play the music you enjoy from Tidal. The SQ is normally very good so there is no need to go and play well recorded music that may not interest you.

I appreciate the suggestion but that is exactly what I am trying to avoid. SQ may normally be very good but Im looking for music that is recorded/mastered exceptionally well. I guess I'm looking for solid demo music that would show off what an incredible system can do.

If someone wants a demo of my system I ask them what they would like to hear.

The playlist that I mentioned was chosen by CA to highlight 100 exceptional recordings. I can attest that there are many excellent "audiophile" quality tracks on the list. Too many to single any out. I suggest that you listen and then report back with your faves.

Will do!

And don't forget to make sure that you are paying for the CD Quality tier in Tidal ($20 per month in the USA) and not the cheaper MP3 quality subscription.

I cant find "computer audiophile 100" on Tidal... region restriction?

I couldn't find it at first either.
Then I Googled "computer audiophile 100" and found the list at Computer Audiophile.
I then downloaded the playlist to my Tidal app.

If you add it to your Tidal account, it should show up as a playlist.
I just tried it with mine and it works with Mconnect app and within Tidal itself.

How can I import this directly into the Lumin app? or do I have to create it one by one?
As Rod said if you add it to your Tidal account by it will appear in your Tidal playlists in the Lumin app. Easiest way is to first login to your Tidal account in your browser at tidal.com. Then click on the link to the playlist and you'll be able to play it in Tidal and save it by just clicking on the  icon. It should then appear as a saved playlist when you access your Tidal account via any means including the Lumin app. :audiophile:

Thank you boys, it worked. I should really play around with this stuff a little more

I also noticed I am setup for HIFI, how do I enable MASTER on my Lumin? or can I?
