Your favorite speaker stands.

This seems like a lifetime ago looking at these pictures, but these are the stands I still own for any use with stand mount speakers.

I have 3 favorites. I would say top of my list for value, built quality & customer service would be Sound Anchors. The good thing about Sound Anchors is they can also custom size their stands. Next would be Taoc who have a good range of well made, solid stands. Finally Acoustic Revive are also worth a look.

Cheers.

Had these custom made for a pair of V2s:

Great posts everybody! There are some manufacturers listed in this thread that I've never even seen before.

Thedubemaster, after you get settled in with the Track Audio stands, I'd be interested to know what you think of em'. I'm about to shell out some coin for 8 of their spikes. My wallet is already trembling.

Anyway, keep the suggestions rollin!

Cheers Zero, the TA stands do look impressive. To be honest i've never heard of them.

How do you think their iso feet + cups would rate up against Stillpoint Ultra 5's with Ultra bases under a pair of Magico S5's? Magico of course recommend the supplied spikes which they state provide a solid platform (as per their super-rigid alu cabinets) to allow the drivers to work in perfect piston motion. Conversely they do not recommend isolation feet which allow some lateral movement such as Stillpoints. The TA feet appear to have a solid structure which is more akin to the factory spikes and cups, so I am intrigued :skeptical:.

Hello Bodhi
Thanks for that. I will keep you posted but I already have three sets of the isolation spikes by Track Audio and one set of turntable feet and I must say the quality is all there. The presentation box is made of wood, very impressive and the build quality is apparent once you pick one up and examine it closely. I bought them through Dale Linzey at AudioNote lounge in the UK and the service was fabulous. I had a problem adapting the feet to my RX-5000 so Dale contacted them and within a very short time they custom made me adapters in a M14 thread so they fit perfectly. They do their job well and I dare say in the Stillpoints league perhaps. I say this without an A-B comparison so it is purely speculation. I would buy them again so there I said it.
good luck and stay tuned for speaker stand impressions.
Cheers

Hello Bodhi,

Man, I wish I could talk to you about the Sillpoint Ultra line, but I have VERY limited experience with these products. On the flip side however, I've heard Tracks products on a few different loudspeakers and noticed consistent results - hence why I'm on the cusp of ordering a set for myself. :D That said, if I ever have a chance to perform a comparison, I'll be sure to post up a mini-review here at Audio Shark. :)

Thanks Zero. Look forward to the comparison. I have both Stillpoint minis and the Track audio spikes so maybe if I find the time I will try to do an A-B comparison.

Thanks Zero, consistent results is the key. I've read that results using the Stillpoint Ultra feet under Magico speakers can be a mixed bag. I'm not averse to moving on a few Stillpoints if I find something which may potentially work better under the S5's. At the least, they warrant further investigation. I look forwarding to reading your further impressions if you do an a-b comparison.

Cheers,
Bodhi.

That would be cool Zero. Obviously the Ultra 5's would out-perform the Ultra Mini's under speakers, however it would be interesting to see if the Ultra Mini's pipped the TA spikes in this application...

Thedubemaster - Methinks you'll get the opportunity to strum up a little comparison before I will. Hopefully you'll share your impressions with us when you have the time to do so. :)

Bodhi - Truth be told, I get pretty nervous when it comes to talking about devices like floor spikes. Or cables. Or stands for that matter. The only way I can truly gauge the performance of something like exotic speaker-spikes is by looking for consistency. So far, I've found that consistency with Tracks products. Still, that alone isn't enough to make me climb atop a proverbial mountain to proclaim the greatness of Tracks. Even after a product proves itself to me time and time again - I know that it's performance will hinge on the speakers they are connected to, the ability of the system (and the room) to resolve any differences that those spikes may induce, and the ability of the listener to perceive those differences. Still, if I manage to get my hands on some Stillpoint Ultra's, I'll let you know what I find. :D

Zero, thanks for your pragmatic thoughts on the Tracks spikes. I'll be interested to read any feedback from a comparo with Stillpoints .
