Mike, I think the Lt Dan posts are still up. (I will check, as it seemed so odd.)
I know everyone is not a child fan or Halloween fan. But to have your Super-Mod post it on Halloween and not expect a Push back is well...a Forrest Gump surprise to the boss.

Then 3 days later, LT Dan post's a picture, of a young child sitting on his lap leaning away. I suppose to offset his written words, and prove to me, he is an ok guy. Creepy.
But funny creepy...

Glad to be here, and I know more will jump ship.
(I will miss the ice cream bar and his fake Cubans.)

We're really glad your here !! It's pretty funny how that name "Lt. Dan" has stuck, I gave him that name over a year ago when I was talking to Mike.

Mike almost choked he was laughing so hard !!
 
I saw the posting on another site the other day about where is Joe? To tell the truth I actually like that site and I like this site also. I see there are others here that I have noticed from the other site. When I do a search on the internet for a particular peice of gear or music I find even more sites than I knew existed. I tend to go to the sites that tend to discuss gear and music that are more relevent to me, such as newer McIntosh equipment and recent analog discussions. I find a lot of nice people with common audio interests on all the sites I visit.

My problem is that I am more of a lurker than a contributor for any site. I will post if it happens to be about something that I have tried or product I have owned or do own, as I don't like to give an oppinion on something that I know nothing about first hand. I also have a difficult time describing why I prefer one piece of equipment over anothery except to say one sounds better to me. I can't describe in detail of what I hear the way many can. I do enjoy reading others descriptive details though.

I find many on this site to have similar equipment and interest to my own. I really haven't found any sites that have a lot of info on Acoustic Zen which as you can see from my list of equipment that I like a lot.

Hope I don't get banned here or anywhere else.

Thank you for your thoughts. I too have trouble trying to describe what I hear but sometimes a piece just jumps out over another and it's pretty clear. The only people I've banned were outright spammers. You will not have to worry as well as everyone else. All we want is to have an open dialog about gear from wherever we can find it. Links to gear and reviews is encouraged.

Welcome PMCH! I have AZ cables and think they are great. I also heard the AZ cables at RMAF and thought they were excellent.

Jeff (AVSolutions) here is also an AZ dealer.

I too used to like that other site, at the very beginning. ...Then things started to 'illuminating' around.

I forgot your first name, but I do remember exchanging friendly thoughts with you before. ...Welcome! :)

We can't judge a site in its entirety, but we can see clearly in each individual who is part of it.
It's only a few, and those few somehow are allowed to insult and disrespect other members. ...Then the entire site suffers from it. ...You'll never see it happening here.

"LT'" and "Forrest", hit the nail, right on the head. I am jealous that I did not think of the pseudonym.
"Forrest" was such an Energy Vampire as I and everybody else, had to sit through stories that we knew were downright fibs, from comparing notes with others, including McIntosh.
Can I just get my good deal, without the 2 hrs of "How great you are speech.".
How much is that?

Every-time Forrest starts a post, LT Dan post right behind him like the Human centipede looking for a pat on the head.

Months before, Dan blew Forrest's business up with emails to members, that Forrest had nothing to do with McIntosh and was not a Dealer. Don't buy from Forrest as they are ripping up all his equipment boxes delivered to him, and McIntosh would void all warranty's.

LT Dan had a problem with his purchased equipment, and brought a flamethrower to the situation but he did get McIntosh to fix it under warranty.

He got caught, and sucked his way back into good graces with Forrest, as a $ spending yes man.
So many good stories.
Nothing ever adds up, but you just listen to his "I am the greatest" show, and hope to get your good deal.
He turned his home into an audio store, no overhead or employees. Seems to have worked over the years.
 
I'm kinda new to the forums. For me it was like coming in out of the cold. After being rejected by Greater Toronto Area Audiophile Club for being a HT guy I landed here by luck. Boy am I lucky you guys are great. I believe a lot of us are at the same place at the same time give or take.Thanks for having me.Thanks to all who put in considerable time to make this work.
