What do you like best about AudioShark?

I've made some good friends here…..Actually, I met them on another forum…. but I don't recall the name of that other place.

:rolleyes:

I think it's called AudioDeficionado.

Everyone here seems very enthusiastic, helpful and generally good natured. Its a welcome relief where sometimes elsewhere, you see a thread and skip it because the controversy from last week is clearly still brewing...until someone has to lock up the thread. not so here...great stuff. Thanks Founders and Moderators!

You're very welcome!

I wasn't sure what to expect coming to the Shark >}}}'> ... What I've found here though is a lot of knowledgeable people and a smaller group, and everyone seems to be more focused on having fun, than spewing misinformation. One of my biggest pet peeves, and this includes information technology forums as well as audio forums, is people presenting opinions as fact, and generally they're based on nothing more than their limited knowledge. I also, and I'm not entirely sure how to word this, really enjoy the nature of the discussions. There's plenty of places to ask "how do I hook up X component to Y." Here it seems more like a bunch of people in a room with a similar interest talking about audio. Does that make sense?

I didn't want to rehash what has already been said it's all great. I am not one that has a lot to say mostly read others post if there is something I can contribute I will. But for me I like the laid back friendly atmosphere here and the passion everyone has audio.

Dave, I'm noticing the Toshiba HD-1A from your sig; do you mean the HD-A1?

I only mentioned because I still have mine.
{Picture above is of the HD-XA1, exact same as the HD-A1 except for that front motorized lower full width door.}

-> DACs are the TI (Texas Instruments) Burr-Brown PCM-1755 - four of them - decent sounding CD player - even better sounding than the HD-XA2 - which I still have too, and with the same TI BB DACs for the multichannel (5.1) analog output except for the 2-channel (2.0) music stereo analog output listening, which uses a Wolfson Microelectronics WM8740 stereo DAC.

The good vibe and no Col Klink running the joint!
