Yes I feel Roon is the future too. I'm not surprised that Roon on a Surface Pro 3 is a winner. Surface Pro 3 and upcoming Surface Pro 4 running Windows 10 should be a blast. Makes me wonder whether a boxy CAPs build will continue to have the edge compared to a dedicated Surface Pro i7 running on battery. I will have all three devices soon and hope to fit into a balanced GG when there are more out there in the field.

My money will still be on the CAPs, but it may not be night and day difference. SPro is compact and very noisy though...

Surface Pro3 has a fan that can kick in. That is its Achilles heel. Surface Pro 4 is rumoured to be fanless!

With electronics density, SPro has the potential to be noisier. Especially with a touch screen. Only a side-by-side shoot out will determine the degree that density is a factor.

SPro3 is very well made hardware and is proving to be a great media player even out of the box with minimal fuss. I imagine the SPro4 will be even better.
 
What are you guys doing with the surface pros? Running audiophile optimizer or some other script to strip them down? The form factor does look attractive.
 
I think EuroDriver uses win !0 with some homebrew optimization from LMitchie. AudioPhil has not yet done his official Win10 AO program yet.
