I had the exact same issue. The trick I used is to edit the photo in my computer by rotating it 90° and then I just took out a slight tiny line from it and save. I don't know the edit function of your personal device but you should have a photo editing function on any PC, MAC, laptop, tablet, smartphone, ...
* When I just rotated it 90° and saved, it did not work, but after rotating it and editing the photo very slightly by removing just a small portion (only 1% or so), then clicking on Save, it worked. I could posted it in its proper orientation.
I only cut the picture @ the bottom by less than 1%.
1. Rotate the image 90°
2. Cut a small portion
3. Click "Save"
4. Now your image attachment should display in its correct orientation when transferring this new edited image.
