I cannot understand why Altec built a speaker so low. Does not make any sense.
Back then, maybe our parents could have been sitting on the floor enjoying music than on the sofa?

BTW, my Altecs are in the living room for a try out. They sound delightful. I may order a pair of VOTT to my friend for the music room.
I would also like to hear a "Petite Onken". It uses the 414 in an Onken charge. With a Tad 2001 compression and a "Le Dauphin" horn. One of the very best multicellular wood horn.

And I am left in the music room with the fabulous LS3/5a 15 ohms Falcons ! The Shindo amps do love them a lot and my ears too !
The great Altecs are finally just very big LS3/5a's !!
Those Falcons are true jewels in the audio world. Of course I prefer my Altecs. But the Falcons have their strengths too.

I still remember hearing Avantgarde Trios 20 years ago. Definitely a memorable experience!

Paul - I have a whole room full of gear no one buys! R2R tape decks, horns and SET amps. Not sure what I'll do if someone actually calls me up and says, "Mike, I'm looking for a 2 watt SET amp, what do you suggest?" I may faint.
