New speakers! Buchardt S400IIs Color Signature Editions

I just looked at the Buchardt website, and I noticed that the warranty for the S400 MkII Color Signature Edition is 20 years for the original buyer and 10 years for a secondhand buyer. Very impressive.

For the record, the green and blue are sold out. "Dusk Orange" is the last of the Color Signature Editions available for purchase. It looks a lot like yellow to me, but it is quite striking either way.

Yes, the Dusk Orange is the last color model available. The standard models, with the black, white or veneer finishes are really, really wonderful as well. IIRC, the only specification differences between the Color Signature Edition and the standard model is the use of Argento binding posts, silver wire internally for the crossover, and the warranty period. If the Color Signature Editions wasn't available, I would have the bought the standard S400IIs, regardless.

They're just so natural-sounding, engaging, and wonderful for listening to...music, that you just, as Hans Beekhuyzen says, "Enjoy the music".

BTW, this review by Steve Huff of the original S400IIs Special Editions, when they were first released with a Fauna veneer finish, is excellent. He also loved them so much that he also bought a pair, as well. (y) These speakers are the same exact specification as the Color Signature editions, but with a veneer rather than painted finish.

I just watched a review of the relatively new Wharfedale Aura speakers by Steve Guttenberg and he compared them to the S400MKii. He really liked both but the Aura which is a 3 way BS, did many things better than the S400's surprisingly.

I have been watching and reading a lot of audio gear reviews since I had a knee replacement last week. I have 11 weeks off work.
