Thanks. No, from reading other positive reviews I decided it sounds smart to replace the plain old generic cables with dedicated cables. By the way, the factory cables look fugly.

I would have instinctively thought the better orientation for that installation would be the other axis, with the speakers pointing down the longer wall.

Yes, it is, I have ATS panels behind the listening chair to eliminate any reflections. The sweet spot receives EXCELLENT bass response as well as amazing sound stage and imaging.

My experience is a better stereo effect having the speakers on the long wall.

I had a 19.5' x 26.5' x 9' room in my last house and experienced similar results both with TAD R1 Mk2 full passives and 2 different Legacy semi-active setups. Plenty of space behind and outboard of the speakers on the long wall gave an incredible result.
