Just wondering if anyone has tried this new amplifier from McIntosh.

I know they are advertising it for AV purposes; however, it is in fact a 2-channel Purifier amp. I was thinking if I ever decide to move to a new Mc this might be a worth try.

Yes, looks to be Class D now I get when you said, Purify. It does seem to be marketed as HT installation. I'd have to ask why did you move from the NAD Class D to Mac A/B if wanting Class D? If space isn't an issue you might take a look a the Atmosphere Class D monoblocks. I remember you used to have limited space in your rack, sounds like time for a new rack, LOL

I have not done much in a while since preparing for retirement and move. I actually kind of liked the NAD amp but decided that I really wanted to stay with Mc. I was completely thrilled with the Mc pre-amp and liked the way the Mc amps work. I was happy with the low heat and stability off the newer gen Class D which brings me back to my interest in this new Mc. Will see how my current stuff works out when I get my system all back together in about a month or so.

I have tried many amps and decided that I am not thrilled with either Class A or tube amps. As I say, we all have to decide what most makes us happy.

Randy-

Congratulations on your retirement!
May you have many enjoyable years ahead.
Looks like you are in Kansas now; so plans to come back Upstate?

This is Ncore---and of course carris the Mc price tag.

For an e-purify Class D, try Audiophonics out of France...or to spend at an higher price, NAD.

After talking with McIntosh techs, I decided to go with their standard line A/B amplifiers. He said that the Class D amps are nice, but for a music only system the standard line A/B amplifiers sound better. I really like the MC152 that I ended up getting!
