McIntosh MC301

I try to keep on top of the gear Joe has, or has had, but lets just say the list is "fluid".
From what I understand, the MC301 sounds like the MC601/MC452, just a little less power. I'd personally still opt for an MC452. Something about that amp that I really love.

I forgot to mention, the main reason, for me, to go with either of the MC601's or MC452 is that they are Quad Balanced vs the MC301 which is Push-Pull Complementary. I have not heard them side by side, but Quad balanced might be better on some/most speakers.

That's strange, in the specs on the McIntosh website it clearly states push-pull complementary. Thanks for clarifying. That's awesome!
Joe....according to the faceplate...the MC301's are quad-balanced and it doesn't weigh a ton.

Hahahaha....I happen to own the MC152 and I enjoy it very much. I was against those nipples when they first came out and wished the knobs were there instead....but I'm liking them now and eating crow.

I'll bet five of the McIntosh MC301 amplifiers in a nice rack would make a solid foundation as a power source for a 5.1 surround sound system in a home theater.
