It just goes to show that you don’t need to have a huge room to handle an ultimate system, when it’s set up properly. I bet it sounds amazing!

When I saw the pics I was thinking the exact opposite. I'm sure Mike can vouch for the sound but I would think that more space would allow it to breathe better. You only have whatever space is available though.

The speakers multiple adjustment points make them adapt to 14 x 14 or larger spaces. This room is 16 x 18 and sounds wonderful.

I am sure that the system gets great sound and unlikely anyone would complain. I sure wouldn't. I do agree with you that in most instances a large room will usually maximize the SQ. A large room you just get more placement options.

true. but handle and optimize are two different things. handle means conform to, optimize means fully engaged.

there is no replacement for displacement.:D

Mike,
Do the MBL 101E MkII speakers have similar adjustability options? What would be the minimum and optimal room size for them?
Thanks,
Anshul

They have three adjustability options: tweeter, midrange, bass. The Xtremes have far more, especially with the sub towers.

Room size for 101e mk2’s? 12/13 x 14 minimum. 15 x 20 or bigger is ideal.

If my Vandersteen 7 Mk2’s didn’t work so darn well in my listening room, I would be all over the MBL 101E Mk2’s. Mike (Ritmo), you’re a lucky guy!

My room is 15 X 20 X 10.5. The 101s sound delicious in my room.

Does this system have any kind of power conditioning? If so, what kind of wiring/cabling is used between the power conditioner and the outlets in the wall?

Yes. Shunyata Power Conditioner with all Wireworld Eclipse 8 Cables, except for power, he’s using MBL’s after market upgraded power cables.
