"This new speaker was decidedly darker in balance, richer in tone color, smoother and softer in the treble, and less incisive. It sounded very much like a difference in frequency response, with the top two-and-a-half octaves shelved down in level compared with the original Q7. "

this sure sounds like a strad but on steroids!

I would love to hear the new Q7 MK II. The sonic signature he describes leans much more to my preference than the original Q7. Having this technology trickle down into all their models could well lead to even a broader appeal for an already very popular brand.

I guess the S7 will have similar sonic characteristics, even more so as the S series already lent itself to the fuller and more relaxed side in the Magico's line up.

What is the report on what kind of splash they made across the pond?

Hi Le Roy,

Thanks for posting! The midrange and treble sounds so much smoother and more organic than the original Q7. Sounds like a significant improvement. Nicely done Magico!
