Supposedly Magico has sold "hundreds" of the original Q7, which RH (of TAS) wrote was the best product he had ever reviewed.Yikes, for $229K they better be one of the best speakers he ever heard. Do you think they will sell more than 20 pairs?

+ 1. The great thing is, like Infinity in its heyday, Magico filter down technology from their topline speakers which puts reference level sound within the reach of more people. I'm eagerly awaiting the release of an S5 Mk II which I think is inevitable (and should be a peach!):yahoo1:While I do find myself wondering how I could swing the S7, I have no worries at all regarding even thinking about acquiring these. However, as a technological achievement I would expect it to trickle down into speakers I could lust over.
Joe, I doubt Magico would offer to upgrade any existing S5's to S7 spec until and if an S5 Mk II is released, but you could always ask. With that said, i'm not much of a fan of upgrading speakers & prefer to wait for a new model to come out so I can upgrade.Any chance the S5 can be upgraded or is a new speaker purchase required?
Well at least for the tiny sum of $44K (or was it $47K), existing Q7 owners can protect their investment and upgrade to mk II status and now own the new "best"" speaker in the world.
Q7 Mk II will be on the 12th floor in the O'hare 2 meeting room at the Westin. Quintessence Audio is the dealer. Also the Sonus Faber Lilium and Audio Research will be in O'hare 1 meeting room.
