They have received great reviews and look well made.

As I own a lot of Emotiva gear, this isn't a biased statement. ;)

I actually visited their HQ in Tennessee, and attended Emotiva on the Road in Boston this past summer. I have heard the Stealth 6 and 8 models in a side-by-side comparison. They are sonically identical, save for the slightly lower bass extension of the 8s. They image very well and have a nice, flat tonal balance. Their build quality is very nice.

Depending on what your needs are, I would definitely rank them among the upper end of studio monitors out there. Nice thing is their no-hassle demo period/return policy. Have I heard better, sure. At their price point however, they are a steal. And, you are correct...they have received very good reviews.

As we all know, audio SQ is very personal and highly subjective. Pretty much all audio questions can be answered with "it depends." :)

Heil tweeter, what's not to like?

Active too with class A/B amps.

Thanks Cory.

Looks like the 8's are out of stock with no expected return date. So not sure if they will ever be available.

Yeah, they go in and out of stock regularly, but they are usually replenished fairly quickly. The Stealth 6 is in stock currently.

They have also unofficially teased with a prototype of a new model - Stealth 88. It will have two 8" drivers and the same tweeter in a MTM configuration. Crazy rumor is (3) 300W built-in amps, one for each driver!?!

Joe, nice find again! I wonder how they compare to the similarly priced Kef LS50s, something I have been thinking about lately...

Hi Allen,

These are powered, the LS50 are not. I am sure these could play louder and lower but both seem to have a loyal following. So much gear, so little time.

Did you read Andrew's review of the Stealth 6's? Apparently he has had both in-house and preferred the 6's, but he was using sub's for what that's worth. They would seem to be a great solution for an office system. I am using Audioengine's A5's for my computer speakers.

Hi Jack,

REVIEW ? Emotiva Pro Stealth 6 Powered Monitors |

No I didn't until now. Wow! He loves the Stealth 6. I'll have to give them another look.

Didn't know that Matt. In the context of his review it appears that the only difference between the two is the woofer size and amplifier gain to accommodate it. If you are going to run them on their own then the 8's may be better, but if you would consider a sealed sub to fill in the bottom, then the 6's may be fine.

I'm not discounting the Stealth line of speakers as I've never heard them before; FWIW, they do get stellar reviews from what I've seen. I'm neither a hater or fanboy when it comes to Emotiva. I just thought I would put that info out there so you can make an informed decision.

I was hoping that Emotiva would make the trip to Axpona this year so I could hear this line of speakers, but it looks like they are going to skip it again. I'm sure they have their plate full with the impending release of the XMC-1.

Matt

I have one of their CD players and phono preamps in house and they are pretty good for the price. Had one of their two channel amps and gave it to my son some years ago. I don't have any bias towards them either. They do seem to be buying product from some of the same Chinese producers as the "big boys" and selling the products for less and counting on volume. Their current CD player and Preamp seem to be well designed products producing well above their price point. If the speakers are the same they may in fact be a bargain. I have been tempted by the new preamp and CD player, but so far have resisted. Right now I am content with the JOB 225 powering the new Vandersteen Treo's.
