socfan, thank you for the kind words! It's been very exciting. Funny thing - waiting on speaker cable before I can even power it up. Patience is a virtue

Sorry, folks, it was very late once I got everything assembled. Flew out early this morning and won't be back until Sunday. Will get the pics up once I get back, for sure.

Doug, I know what you mean. I haven't even turned on the system yet. I am very eager. Good news, though, is that my Naim speaker cable is scheduled to arrive tomorrow. Pick them up on Sunday from my buddy's.

Sean - admittedly, I find the Naim gear quite confusing with all their various add on parts and such. What is a good Naim DAC/music streamer and does the NAIM gear handle DSD?

Also - can't wait for your impressions! You just be super excited. You rarely swap gear.... :)

Mike, I could not agree with you more. Having to learn the Naim-way has been a new challenge....and I'm not even really close to knowing it all. Naim, I believe, is not currently running DSD in their streaming devices. I could be wrong but that is what I understand. Jock loves the TOTL NDS.

I have read good things about their two current DACs. The smaller (and newer) DAC V1 sounds great. But I am interested to find a comparison of the older/bigger iteration.

Their nDAC is very very good when used with the 555PS external power supply. It's a decent dac when used with its internal power supply.

Thank you for sharing, Jock! It sounds like adding in a power supply to Naim pieces always brings about great improvements.
 
That's pretty much the thing with Naim. Pretty much everything Naim makes can have a power supply added to it. There are different levels of power supplies that can be used and they can be used for multiple things.

The entry level Naim has amazing PRAT and the farther up the line you go adds detail, soundstage etc, without ever losing the PRAT.

A small iPhone teaser until later. Got to listen for 20 minutes or so last night. Staging is impressive but I'm hoping for a lot of improvements during burn in. Not too worried, though, as this was to be expected.
