Cable cooker

I found this on MIT site :

Stop! DO NOT use the DuoTech Cable Enhancer or other such active devices with MIT products. Using these devices may damage your MIT interfaces. Burn-in CDs are OK.

I'm not going to risk it
Bummer!!

:(

Does anyone offer "cooking" services for cables already purchased? I'd be interested if the service was priced reasonably.

That's an interesting idea. I've thought about offering to cook cables. Hmmmmm.

I use the Audioharma 3.5 anniversary version and it does a great job.....re-cooking the cables seems to rejuvenate the cables a smidge, sort of like cleaning connectors.

Here is mine

I have the same Cooker and it seems like it's always on... Does a superb job on power cables. Still trying to figure out how long to "cook" speaker cables. The speaker cables always seem like they need additional time to settle into a system after "cooking".

Alan Kafton (Designer & Manufacturer) is great guy as well!

Pete, When did you start offering speaker cables? Greg says you and Charlie have been finalizing a system for CAF with Triode speaker & power cables?

I've been "experimenting" with different speaker cable designs for ~ 2 years now... I finally finished (with the help of many of my audiophile friends) the beta-testing across the USA and have finalized a design to be released ASAP (early July) as soon as my website is updated with the new speaker cable info & line-up... I'm utilizing top of the line Cardas connectors using a cold-forging / fusing/ welding technique that does not employ any potential sonic degrading solder as well as a adding purely passive "ground-plane" noise reduction technique. My cables will be featured in Rooms 806 & 817 at the Capital Audiofest next month...

Cheers,
Pete

Hi, Mike....per our discussion yesterday: yes, indeed, power cables are easily conditioned via the custom adaptors I fashion for use with the Cable Cooker. And you can daisy-chain as many as you like. This is discussed within the FAQ page on my website.

Their "warning" is years old, and addresses the DuoTech unit, which has a rather nasty signal. The Cable Cooker has been safely used for many years on numerous models of MIT, including their Oracle. This is mentioned on the FAQ page of my website.

I asked them to correct their information a few times, but they simply ignored me. Hence the FAQ info and the picture under "Cooker in use" disproving their misinformation.

...This could be a good business, perhaps. ...Reservation for two, tonight, at Bob Inn Cable Cookin' :D

This is very interesting, I have a cooker and I`d be willing to have a go at it. What would you guys consider reasonably priced for such a service, as long as it really does improve the sound?
