Any Cycling fans here?

Guys I have 60mm and 90mm Easton carbon wheels, you won't loose control of the bike it's just destabilizing, hence reducing the enjoyment, when riding in crosswinds that's all.
Good to know. Thanks, Dan!

Here is a pic of my wife's CYFAC "Gothica CS" with the new ENVE 3.4 clincher rims, Vittoria Open Corsa CX tires, latex tubes. Wheel build is identical to my own, (except I put the 36 tooth ratchet upgrade in mine): Alchemy ELF front hub, DT Swiss 240 rear hub. Full Ceramic Speed bearing upgrade (hub shells and freehub), 20 spoke front, 24 spoke rear. (1377 grams)

I do think she's gonna love these wheels!

The rest of her bike is Ultegra DI2, Enduro ceramic bottom bracket, Ritchey carbon bars, stem, seatpost. Just a couple ounces over 15 lbs.

And just for fun, here's a nice shot of my custom CYFAC "Absolu":

Sweet!

Bob those bikes are sweet. I love the wheelsets. They don't look too deep at all on the bike. I don't know if I'm the first guy to tell you this, but you've got a pretty long stem there buddy! :P

Haha, I'm just window shopping! Gotta get my room, acoustic treatments, and one new gear in order first. But the thread does make me feel better about going aero...

Hey Doug... thanks for noticing (I think!), its only a 130. One of the reasons I had to go full custom for my frame is because its really tough to find any stock frame geometry with a long enough top tube. I had CYFAC add a cm to the top tube length just so I wouldn't be limited to finding 140 stems. Most mfg's make 130s, but many stop there. There's a fair number of 140s out there though. Specialized frames come close, but then the stack is so damn high I can't slam the bars and get a reasonably low position. I wish I'd fit a stock frame, it would open the doors and save a ton of cash. At 6'3" and 200lbs, I'm not one of those little bird-body guys.

The guys at CYFAC are terrific though. When you go custom, you can tune the compliance, stiffness of the bottom bracket, etc. The standard "Absolu" is their premium race frame, a little like a Ferrari. I asked them to tune it down just a bit, make it more of a Benz 500 SL AMG version. We added a cm to the chainstays as well, lengthening the wheelbase and softening the ride just a wee bit. Maybe not quite as stiff and light as many monocoque frames, but IMHO if you look at the tube junctions the frame is way more elegant. And because the frame is tall, with the tapered headset (1.125" - 1.5"), the transition from head tube to fork flows perfectly, rather than have a big bulge like on so many frames. And CYFAC uses no decals, all logos and text are stenciled and painted on.

Also, see the youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9x2PjozPus&list=PLBLuDzzvZ3eVra85h80LgqsrBX_d_TqA9. The craftsmanship is amazing. Nothing popping out of a mold in China!

Thanks for the info Bob. Great video. What a treat to have a custom bike built for your body, exactly the way you want it. I like the internal cable routing and didn't notice the head tube was tapered. I do appreciate the fact that the logos are all stenciled on, what a nice way to finish a sweet frame off.

I don't think you would see that kind of personal craftsmanship on a stock carbon frame from anyone. Like you said, they just pop out of a mold.
