Well, given the incoming snow storm, the date did get pushed out to this Saturday. So 4 more days guys.:(

The wait is killing me...

Its ok....don't agonize over the wait...think about what's coming home in a few days...:audiophile:

Trust me I went through that. My install had to be postponed for a week. They finished on a Sunday at 8:30 pm and I had to get on a plane the next morning at 6 am for a week...:exciting:

Bob, I truly hope all works out for you! You so deserve them!

I don't want to steal any of Allen's joy on this thread... the anticipation of taking delivery of those Alexias must be something akin to the excitement of a young man expecting to get lucky! And the delayed delivery can only be like having her play a little hard to get!

On that note, not having heard back yet from my dealer on the price they're going to ask for the demo Alexias, I sent this note this morning:

MWM seeks sublime tweeters…
Middle aged white guy with a penchant for wine, women, and song
seeking a great pair of tweeters (middle and bottom should also be amazing)
She should be a seductress and a siren, with a voice able to send ships crashing on the rocks
And, she should be able to rock out herself when called upon
Preference given to those named Alexia willing to be had for a discount
A fine home awaits, and the company of equally thrilling companions such as AMG, ARC, & BENZ!

Hurry! Sasha(2) is calling…

OK y'all, my dealer came back with a price that only represents a 19% discount for the demo Alexias, and there are a few small nicks in the paint. Color is desert silver, a long way from the WOW factor of my candy apple red Sashas.

Is it a good deal? Would any of you take it? I know if I tried to sell them on Audiogon it would be a little hard with the blems—but they are new enough and without any others being offered maybe I'm wrong. But I think used with blems it would be tough to get $30K?

I welcome your thoughts. $39K is a lot of cash.

Go new Bob. If the discount is not too significant for this pair being a demo with nicks, at this price point, I would want them to be as perfect as they get shipped from the factory.

My 2 cents...:)

Well, $10K is a big number to me, and being thrifty is always a good idea. The one little nick, as it turns out, is about 1.25mm and a tiny dab of touchup paint will make it disappear. The others would be hard to spot unless one were really, really looking. Considering these will be something in my home for (I hope) at least 5-10 years, by the time I part with them the tiny blems will not impact the value.

So, I''m gonna pull the trigger. :bananasplit:The savings will be valuable towards a Ref Phono2SE or an upgrade to my amp or pre.

And... while it is the dealer's responsibility, I do know the drive from Seattle down to Portland for setup isn't a small deal. And my guy at the dealer will probably make a second trip for final tweaking.

Now, I just want to wait until after Valentines Day to tell wifey!
