Just wondering if anybody here has had the opportunity to hear anything from Aaron Amplifiers. From what I've read they are made in the Netherlands but have a history with Sovereign amps that go back to Germany.

I'v never heard of these amps until recently I saw on Audiocircle a guy picked up an Aaron No. 3 stereo amp and preferred it over his Wells Innamorata. So just looking to see if anybody else has experience with them. Thanks!

I'm curious too. I just saw the comments on audiogon forum. The top of the line integrated looks gaudy.

Yeah, that "Let's Rock" integrated is a little interesting...not sure what they were thinking on that one.

Almost 6 years ago I've tested Aaron XX "20th Anniversary Limited Edition" & No.1a. Both were very dynamic, fast, with deep, well controlled bass.

Seems like wherever I do find owners or people who have heard them they have nothing but great things to say but it's few and far between. The only thread I could find in direct relation to the No.3 amp was on the AVforum from back in 2004. Seems odd for what appears to be a fantastic sounding amp.

Aaron sound is very similar to old Restek monos.

Not familiar with Restek...I've only been in this hobby for about 3 years.

I sent Aaron Amplifiers an email and got a quick response...they are in Germany. They do ship all over the world and will ship direct from Germany if there isn't a dealer associated in your area. 30 day money back guarantee less shipping costs and they have their own in-house financing with up to 2yrs interest free!

The customer service rep seemed very nice and said they are pretty confident in their products and look to provide top notch customer service. Hmmm...very tempting. I just wished they had a pair of monoblocks to offer.

Well I took the plunge and ordered an Aaron No.3 amp and should get it this Thursday which surprised me because they just shipped it today direct from Germany. The only amp I can compare it to that was really worth anything is the Job 225, so I'll let you guys know how it turns out.

Congratulations! Looking forward to your opinion. Can't wait.

Thanks!

Once the guy over on the AC forum gave me his description of the Aaron compared to the Wells Innamorata I was hooked. I'm expecting great things so lets see.

Tomy2, Would you consider telling us what the No.3 cost to land it in the states? I was the poster who asked about the Wells being dispatched by the Aaron, including bettering the Wells at it's strengths, accurate timbre, rich harmonics, liquid, great soundstage & imaging, and rock solid bass. I'll be very interested in the JOB 225 comparison, please post your results. Thanks for the bold move to just buy an Aaron and try it out, we applaud your initiative.

I ordered directly from Aaron Amplifiers and the the price on their website of 2590 euro ($2675) is the total price including 2day shipping from Germany much like Goldmund does with the Job.

The customer service rep I corresponded with was named Frank and he told me about the in house financing they do. Minimum you could put down I think was $725 and you can get up to as much as 24 months interest free payments of $86 which is what I ended up doing and this is all with a 30 day money back guarantee from delivery date. They take either bank wire transfer or PayPal. With the added fees of the international transfer PayPal added $25 to the $725 I sent. I submitted this order Sunday evening and they shipped out the Aaron Tuesday morning.

I figured if the Aaron is what it's all cracked up to be ill just pay it off next month otherwise I'll return it within the 30 days with only the minimum down to get back. The manual it came with said they do some type of "burn in" process at the factory followed by 48 hrs of actual use but I'm going to let it run for about 2 weeks before giving any serious listening or final judgement.

I've never heard a Wells Audio amp but have read nothing but great things and the way you describe it sounds like it's one hell of an amp. I believe they offer a trial period too but not sure if they go thru a dealer rather than direct. I'll keep you in touch here.

Thanks Tomy2, Aaron sure is customer friendly with their policies. I'm looking forward to your No. 3 audition and comparison. BTW, I heard the SS8s at RMAF 2014 compared to the Exoticas with their powered bass drivers, my buddy and I preferred the SS8s driven by Frank's Fet Valve 600R, stunningly good!

Interesting that could mean a few things. 007, smooth, refined now from what I remember about Rambo he was tough, could hide in plain sight and always seemed to be dirty LOL. :D

The Aaron does seem interesting.

My take is Bond in a Tux drinking a shaken martini vs rough around the edges get out of my way Rambo.

What's that billet aluminum looking thing on top for? Does it serve any purpose or just for looks? I like the front.

Just for looks as far as I can tell. Could've gone without it in my opinion.

I'll look in the manual later and see if it refers to it.
