You might be close to the mark. Everest-X = $15,000 MSRP. Everest 8000 = $9,895. Price difference = $5,105.
 
Thanks. Do you know how this will be facilitated? Via dealers, directly with the factory, something else? Can I assume an RMA will have to first be obtained?

Here is a post by Scott of Shunyata Research on another audio forum regarding upgrades of Everest to Everest-X specification.

"Yes, there will be an upgrade service available. While all the details and timing are yet to be confirmed, I can say that the cost to upgrade will roughly cost the difference between the MSRP cost of Everest 8000 and Everest-X.

This upgrade path will likely be made available later this year when production capacity allows."
 
Thanks; will line up for it when the time comes. These devices are superior; I also have a Denali 6000/S v2 for the lesser components and simply moving the ML electrostatics from it to the Everest renders an audible improvement; that's a simple A/B test.
