Most of the time (98%) I actually use Roon/HQPlayer. So I disable the Roon DSP Engine. That is, Roon DSP Engine turned off.

I let HQPlayer do all the conversions and filtering. HQP up-converts everything to DSD 512 and applies FIR filters and room correction. It requires a powerful computer which I have dedicated for this purpose. It works beautifully for me.

If I want to listen to Roon without HQP (like listening to a physical CD from my Roon-ready CD player), then I can Enable the Roon DSP Engine back and use a similar setting to yours.

I started fiddling the other day but did not hear much change. I set it pretty much as you have Mike. I don't have DSD so that was not on.

I also looked at upsampling in HQ but did not see how to double the sample rate in PCM.

I have my server configured as Roon Server. I have another computer ethernet attached that is doing more the lifting.

It would be nice if the selections were more clear cut. My DAC goes to 192. I would like to say 4x the sample rate only if the source is 44.1, 48 or double if 96. What does max really mean.

It would be great if any Lumin X1 users out there can post about their experiences. I have played around a bit with settings, but have not found any major changes yet... But, honestly, I don't really know what about half of the settings actually mean. ha

Try upsampling to DSD512. The "Sample Rate Conversion Filter" will affect the sound (focus on imaging and percussive instruments), as does the 5th or 7th order CLANS. Some people like how DSD sounds, some people don't.

Also enable Parallelize Sigma Delta Modulator - this allows for more efficient use of multiple CPU cores for DSD upsampling.
