Had some approval from the spousal unit to get a "good" piece for my system. Might have involved an automobile accident...
I have been investigating/researching a DAC upgrade for my system. I acted quickly to prevent a retraction of permission.
As usual, dealing with Mike, and Mike Malley was easy, and went well. I ordered an MSB Premier DAC, with Renderer v2 for Roon.
At present, the Premier comes standard with the upgraded clock module, and the Premier Power base.
Supreme results. This DAC is smooth, yet very clear. Soundstage is very expansive. My wife remarked quickly that my system had improved greatly. (harsh critic there)
I know I need to do something to separate the PSU from the DAC, but we have a move next year, with downsizing, further, likely. I will be waiting till the new listening room is identified, and then plan for a different rack, or an additional one to house the different PSU boxes. The room size will also determine if I keep the vinyl rig/vinyl albums/record cleaning machine.
Additionally, if you run Sonos in your house (my wife can only speak Sonus, and she listens to music a lot) the Wyred4Sound modded Port module really is good.
Thanks again Mike and Mike!
