Thorens TD-124 DD

12k, no thanks. For the same money I'd get either a Rega P-10 or Technics 1200G, a killer cartridge, complete RCM set up, cables and have $$ left over for more LP's .............. :woot:
 
This is totally unrelated to the turntable talked about in this thread but I have a Thorens story. Many years ago my buddy was buying a Thorens turntable from a dealer by the name of Thieves Warehouse. The salesman said he had one left and went to the loft above the office to get it. He accidently on purpose dropped the box from about 12 or 14 feet to the ground. My buddy about had a heart attack then he found out there was no turntable inside. Pretty funny. We get the turntable back to his place, got it setup and was listening to it. The dog was barking outside so we went out to take a look and when he closed the door it locked us out. The rest of the side of the album played and we spent the better part of 30 minutes listening to the Shure V15 grinding against the center of the record. He couldn't take it any longer and he broke a window to get in. His wife drove up 2 minutes later.
