Thanks to Emile and Ed, we’ve been playing with XDMS this morning.

I had read people commenting on this early release’s functionality. As my former life was in software, I can assure you that software development is an arduous task at best and Emile’s approach of “sound first” means everything can have a cause and affect.

XDMS is FAR FAR better than any alpha version should be. It’s very good!

Sonically, ok, let’s just say, when Ed through the switch, Roon gone officially clobbered. Let me give you an example, I was using this Norah Track album, and with XDMS, there was NO HINT of harshness or digital edge to her voice. It was remarkably pure and natural with XDMS.

What changed? Just the software!

XDMS is a home run!

hey mike hows the taiko running xdms comparing to the aurender n30 running conductor app?

Taiko with XDMS is the winner sonically, but the software is still under development functionally.

This software just gets better and better. Sonically too. I compared the latest XDMS this morning to the latest roon….frankly, it was no contest, XDMS is just so much better sonically. Like a veil has been lifted and everything sounds so much more organic.

Listening to 24/96 of Chris Stapleton’s Last Thing I Needed The First Thing This Morning, the vibrato in his voice was so clear, so natural and more impressive was just how clear and distinct Morgane Stapleton’s voice was. Stunning. None of this was distinct or clear with Roon.

The latest version of XDMS (April 27) is a game changer sonically.
