I decided to give these a try on my home system. This is probably only one step removed from “fuse voodoo”. By the way, we tried several after market fuses in the store, including a $1500 one. Let’s just say, we all strained to hear a difference.
But I digress….
The Stein Speaker Match is a Zobel Network with some pixy dust thrown in (see: Speaker Match - SteinMusic - Handcrafted in Germany )
On the Stein speakers we had on loan (we no longer have them), we all heard a CLEAR difference. The Stein Speaker Match improved things. It removed “grunge” in the upper mids and highs.

I didn’t buy the Stein speakers (although they were very good), but I did buy the Stein Speaker Match (top version). Tonight I decided to hook it up to my system at home. I wouldn’t say it was revelatory, but it did clean up some things in the upper mids and created an ever greater sense of ease.
When you’ve exhausted every tweak in the book…starting with the important ones like grounding and resonance control, this is one worth trying.
Was it a bigger change than something profound like grounding or resonance control? No. Will I take them out? No.
