Hello to all, I am new to this forum,

I currently have a McIntosh integrated amplifier MA252 with old monitoring Tannoy speakers I would like to upgrade.

I am based in Istanbul so there are not many stores I can go to and choice is a bit limited.

I have been offered Bowers Wilkins 802D2 for $9000, which look amazing but because they are second hand, the store does not want to deliver them and does not want to take care of the delivery. so I am responsible if something goes wrong during delivery, and tweeters are apparently very fragile so this is a risk I would take...

Then I have been offered Sonus Faber Amati Anniversary for 8000 euros. First of all, I am scared my amplifier MA252 will not be powerful enough. Although those speakers look technically amazing even they are 16 years old. I know the best would be to try them with my amp, but not easy.

Anyone has this configuration?

Do you think combination could work?

thank you

Max

I don't really like the Amati.
But by far, I preferred SF to B&W. Personally, B&W is not my type of sound.

Those Sonus Faber's have a sensitivity of 92db so that MA252 should be more than enough with 160 wpc at 4 ohms. Enough to bust my ear drums.
