Hello

I am using a USB device to read files from. When I select Music Library in the app I see NOTHING! Any suggestions?

Providing Peter with a little more information than that about your gear and setup might solicit a more useful suggestion.

Ok...I have my Lumin hardwired to a Netgear extender. The WPS light is solid green. The light on the back of the Lumin where the network cable is Green and Amber. I did recently change internet providers and since then have had no luck having my Lumin Mini U to communicate with my USB (music server) it seems. I am able to use my IPAD and connect to the internet without issues. When I go to setup and select music library nothing happens. I have reboot, repowered , reinstalled and I don't know what else to do. Let me know if I can provide anymore info.

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

Have you re-booted the whole network chain or just the Lumin?

Yep..rebooted everything sequentially When I go to choose music library in the app...nothing available.

Can you take any old laptop computer and connect it to the end of the cable that would normally plug into your Lumin, and surf the web? If no internet access is available at the end of that cable, then investigate your Netgear Extender to upstream router connectivity. You may have to reboot the router and extender and then do the WPS sequencing all over.

If you do have internet connectivity at the end of the cable that interfaces with your Lumin, then start looking at your USB to Lumin link and reboot the USB drive/device and/or start checking cables, IP settings on server, etc.

Does your server have both IP connectivity and USB connectivity direct to your Lumin? What Lumin model?

First part I am not sure...how do I check? All I know is that I have my USB cable from my Lumin connected to my WD Passport USB drive. The light on the USB drive is solid.

Model is Mini U

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

Can you use the Lumin as it's currently setup and get to Tidal or Qobuz but just not your server?

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

Is your USB Server connected via Ethernet cable or wirelessly to your home network? Is the USB server also directly connected via USB cable to the Lumin?

What is your USB Server?

Mike

I thing he's just connecting a stand alone USB drive directly to the Lumin. Might want to plug that HD into a laptop or desktop and make sure it's still readable by them.

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

Logical next step if its a stand alone drive, Jack.

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

USB drive is connected to the Lumin. No internet radio to choose from. Nothing really shows up on the left side of the app. The display on the Lumin does show my last playlist. Just the numbers...no song names.

No idea what a Mini U is, but I have a Lumin X1 with a 1 TB HD directly attached to the USB port, and that works fine. I see all the files on the Lumin app on both my iPad, and iPhone. However, you say the light on the HD is on solid. That is opposite to the drive on my X1. The only time the drive light is on for me is when it flickers reading a song. Is your drive okay? Can you read it attached to a PC?

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

So you can't get outside on the Lumin at all? No streaming services or Internet Radio. You do have an account with TuneIn and are signed in I am assuming. If your Lumin can't see the Internet then it and your control device can't see each other either. Who is your internet provider?

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

It happens the same to me my A1 can not detect correclty my USB hard drive connected to the back of the A1.

I was informed it is due some problem with the App (I have a Samsung Tab 3 which is Android and not IOS).

Hope Lumin send a new firmware update for Android in order to solve this and other problems (Tidal does not have any possbility of sort).

Good luck.

I plan to do that and will report back

Spectrum is the service provider.

Re: Lumin Cannot Detect Music Server

Remember that attached drives need to be single-partition only (and formatted FAT32, exFAT and NTFS only - but this is common).
Another quick test would be to connect a small USB pen-drive/thumb-disk with a couple of very standard WAV files on there.

I think you said that in the app, you could see the USB server show up on the settings under Music Library. That suggests that the LUMIN is showing up on at least the local network correctly.

I use to be able to see the USB Music Server..now I do not.
The USB drive has worked perfectly fine with my Lumin streamer before. I got a new IP provider and hasn't worked since. Does Peter still post on this board?
