Below is my audio/video system.

I would like to replace my Krell 707 pre-amp, which I bought about 15 years ago for many reasons, do you have a suggestion of what would be good for this system.

(The Krell does NOT do a 4K on my system, even with their 4K component upgrade. Of course there is no Dolby Atmos. Many of the streaming devices, (with updated audio) don’t work. And their service is not what it used to be. It’s painful, but I am considering another component.)

If you want top tier like the 707 was in it's day. You have to go Trinnov. $$$ I don't know anything as good. If want to buy once and be set for while this might be the way to go.
Processors change rapidly there is new features regularly if you are ok with this then the Marantz 8805 will do your job and not the ton of $$.
I'm exploring the buy once idea but Covid has made this difficult. I own the 8805 and am not dissatisfied.

Definitely Trinnov, and I own one personally and sell them.

Is Trinnov suffering the bug issues with Durac as some of the other brands who use it?

Theta used to be one of the high end contenders but I haven't looked at their processors in some time.

I am a very contented Theta Digital Casablanca IV preamp/processor owner. It is enormously flexible and most definitely top-tier (I happen to think it sits at the pinnacle). Unfortunately, it is quite expensive, albeit worthy every penny.
