Tom...I know it's going to be very hard, to isolate such a thing; but I'd love to get your impressions, of this newly developed mid-range driver. Especially as it compares, to the legendary ATC unit...that PMC used, in your previous IB2s.

Something is missing and I'm trying to put my finger on it....Oh yeah, there is no turntable. :(
 
^^ I wasn't dissing Tom's room; I agree...he likes a clean and minimal aesthetic. I'm just not a fan, of Bone White; some Taupe or something, lol :P

Otherwise...why not go this way? Talk about speakers disappearing into the background ;)

 
Man, I love the white version of these. I STRONGLY considered getting them. What stopped me was knowing that these speakers are really end game speakers for me (at least for several years) and I felt that the tiger ebony finish is more classic and more likely stand the test of time. The white is a bit more trendy and I worried about whether I might tire of that look over time.

As as for the walls, I do agree that a bit of color would be nice. Maybe I'll just do one wall. How about bright orange? : )
 
Jax cool looking setup. Loved the new speakers,PMC makes a great speaker, I use to own the IB2's sweet midrange.
 
I'm enjoying it very much. It's only been 5 days so far and I'm impressed. I have another 10 days until my dealer comes back from vacation before I have to turn it in. The heavy weights Mike and Joe say monos or bust more than just power, lower noise floor, etc and seeing that you just went the mono route also is compelling. But the TAD's are sounding good on one so far.

Pretty much a notch better in every category. These disappear far better. They are slighly more transparent. The bass is even more articulate. Imaging is comparable to a British stand mount speaker. And then there's the appearance where they crush the IB2 IMO. Personally I love the appearance. I find them sleek and sexy as hell. The IB2 is a super speaker. The fact 12 is a world class speaker. That's the difference but just one mans opinion. Worth what I charge for it. : ).

The IB2s do win in the area of bass slam, but they can overwhelm a listening space more easily.
