Hey all,

Just purchased an Onkyo A-9050 for a custom installation to feed a Sonos Connect out to a multi channel Sonamp for whole house distribution.

I researched to find a credible unit with both Pre-Outs and Auto Standby for obvious reasons.

But it turns out, the unit just shuts off in 30 minutes while music is playing. The manual gives no help aside from how to turn it on, a little dip switch in back.

Why is it shutting down while still active? or is the sensing the speaker output and not the signal input? Can I setup a dummy load somehow without causing damage?

Thanks for any help.

By the way, for a cheap integrated, I noticed the Pre section out sounds way better than the Yamaha HT Receiver it replaced. Decent detail and separation with Outdoor and in-ceiling speakers.

I just spoke to Onkyo Support who feels that the signal coming from the Sonos Connect is not enough for the Onkyo to sense it. I need to test issue with CD Player, but won't get back to the peoples house for a month or so.

If the signal strength is the issue, is there anything I can put in-line with the Interconnects to boost the signal?

Edit, will this work?
