hi guys,
i just received the amp, a 4 300 to be precise:
And after few hours of burn in i can say i am very happy.
ok it will never have the delicacy of multipbox units, nor one has the pride of having purchased a branded unit...
BUT: i have the 4 300 one which mean, I can have:
2 times 300 W
2 times 600 W in bridge mode
or 4 times 300 W (which is nice cause my speakers are two way)
full DSP (including FIR filtering) in order to do room correction, and or active crossover....all drivable from your computer in wifi, using audio architect soft!
3 different gains: 27 db, 34 dB, and 37 dB.... (plus a nice attenuator, so much for gain structure, he!)
My bets were:
1 class D with Drivecore is not so bad (ides not sono, but more monitoring like, and I had a very good experience with the Crown D75 which is class AB)
2 appart from active crossover, just to be able to make some equalization (for room correction) and implement a proper room curve would "compensate" for (small) lack of (loss in) "musicality"...
3 the loss in aesthetic would be compensated by the fun of playing and learning
4 I bought it 1700 € and not XXXXXXXXX€ ....so i could buy much more other audio stuff (like a nagaoka MP 500...)
And as I said to Joe, may be not good enough for 4367 but clearly good enough for 4430! Damn 4430 are (were)studio monitors and allthough every one, here and there, tries to pull them to the hifi side, they stay studio monitors.... not everyone likes the sound not to be embellished, not every one can stand the truth....but clearly these speakers are calling to be treated with neutrality.
this amp is detailled, I have clear medium and highs are not coarse or shouting even in my compressions.... The power is clearly there, and i am at minimum gain and 300 W.... my computer recognized straight away the device and both were connected in an eye blink.... strange to manipulate your amp at distance....in wifi....
one again these amps are now from 2017 and are cost effective if you have some 15" to move....
