...how do I get a music streaming service for my LG "smart" (actually really dumb) TV with the WebOS browser? It doesn't have an app to support Qobuz, it doesn't have an app to support TIDAL, it doesn't have an app to support Spotify, it doesn't even have an app to support Pandora, or any other streaming music service for that matter. I'll never buy another LG TV. A few years ago my wife had an LG cell phone that was the least intuitive phone I'd ever seen. Very difficult to use.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any help I can get on this. The LG TV WebOS browser is version 1.4.0. Although I'm afraid I've pretty much exhausted my options. I'll likely just have to wait it out until LG or some other company comes up with some apps. That could be years away. Especially with LG.

I should mention I want to stream music through my audio system via my LG TV web browser. I'm trying not to spend any additional money because in about a year I will be purchasing a whole new high end audio system that will support streaming from Qobuz and TIDAL. But, for now, I can only do it through my TV. I have both Qobuz and TIDAL coming through my computer and cell phone right now. I'm just trying to find a way to acquire music streaming through my current HT system.

You won't be able to stream music reliably from the LG TV web browser. I recommend you stop trying to do so.

Either use one of the apps you can install from the LG TV "content store" after signing into your LG account on the TV. You may need to update your LG TV firmware.

A list of the apps can be found at http://us.lgappstv.com/appspc/store/product/retrieveProductList.lge?dummy=all which you can visit from your regular computer. Sign into your LG account on your regular computer to see if a specific app is compatible with your TV model.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I've already tried it. LG just doesn't offer much in the streaming app arena. Is there a way to stream through my computer to my HT system? I have Qobuz and TIDAL on my computer.

Without buying additional hardware, and if your HT electronics do not already support some form of streaming client software (e.g. AirPlay, HEOS, MusicCast), then you will need to run a digital audio cable from your computer to your HT electronics digital audio input.

Just purchased an LG TV. Beware - their privacy policy is unacceptable. I have defeated all the alleged smart tv features so LG cannot track me.

Strictly as a TV the LG is fine. Great picture, reliable so far. But, even with the automatic update feature, the TV is woefully behind in apps and other features that other TVs have had for many years. I mean, the TV is only about 3 years old and there is no streaming feature? Really? This TV should have far more apps and features. The WebOS "Browser" is very cumbersome to use and is VERY limited. However, my Samsung TV has an even more cumbersome remote and browser. So, this issue is not limited to just LG. The LG is not compatible with any streaming services. "smart TV"? No. Oh well...live and learn. Next TV, I'll take a much closer look at apps and features. But by then all TVs should be streaming compatible...I hope.

Still waiting on it. I'm embarrassed to admit this, but, I didn't notice until after I ordered it from Ebay...it's coming from China! Supposed to be here around April 28 to April 30. For $12.47 I couldn't get hurt too bad. Wonder if it will be counterfeit?

That's where they are actually made so who knows. I am afraid though that you are going to have to spend the $40 and buy a Chromecast Audio to connect directly to the receiver.

Assume everything is made in China and you will be right 99% of the time.

It works!! Got the Chromecast. And now I have Qobuz and Tidal coming through the TV and therefore, the HT system. Also have both on my phone and computer. All set until I buy my new 2 channel high end audio system with streaming hardware and software, next year.

Hi. Have you tried using an Android TV box instead? I'm pretty sure it has lots of apps to support your choice of apps. Since it's android you can download them there too.
