I just received the latest issue of Stereophile, and the Magico M2 is named their loudspeaker of the year for 2020. There's a note that the M2 won by several votes, in particular calling out the incredible imaging that was mentioned in their review from earlier this year.

Awesome! Congrats to the folks at Magico. I can’t say I’m surprised, the M2’s imaging is unmatched.

There you go again. Trying to convince me I should upgrade my M3's to M2's !

I think have the M2 Vs M3 discussion more than any with customers. M3 rocks, has more bass weight, don’t sweat it.

Congrats to the Magico team. The M2 and M6 are my favorite Magico speakers.

Makes sense to me. Also the Speaker of the Year is only chosen from the speakers they auditioned in the past year. So the M3 would not have been in the running.

interesting too that it was a close contest between the 63500dollar m2 vs the 38000dollar wilson sasha daw.
i do know that the 56k alexia2 beats the sasha daw very clearly. would probably have been the more interesting comparison.

I knew I read it somewhere, and I found it again in the Editors' Choice section now that Stereophile has posted the results on their website (bold added by me for emphasis):

In for a follow-up review, the M2s have been my regular listening companion for months. (I've been in no hurry to get rid of them.) I think they're the first pair of loudspeakers I've had here with no identifiable defect. They do that special trick of reproducing all the highs, fully, but never in a way that draws attention—all the air with none of the fatigue.

thats my only problem with magico.....they cost so much in europe. the m3 is 100k euro without feets.
never ever saw a 2nd hand m2 or m3 here.

There have been several M3 pairs available over the years around 50k EUR mark.

The M3 is a great speaker especially considering it's a moderately sized 3 - way. The coherence, dynamics, level of detail and accuracy at high SPLs is quite an achievement that few speakers can do IME.
