any suggestions on what to set these options to for best sound....I don't understand the exactly how they work...thanks...I have an A1..

You need to play with it, and find out what works best for you. I usually alternate between convert PCM to DSD, or play the purchased format. I usually can't tell much difference between the two, but it does offer variety.

For DSD music, it's usually best to turn off Ultrasonic Filter for DSD, and not to convert it to PCM. This applies to both Lumin app and Roon playback.

For Lumin app playback: For 44.1kHz PCM music, you can experiment with whether leaving it as native 44.1kHz, or changing it to 176.4kHz (with output bitdepth set to 24) or DSD makes it sound better. Test with different types of music.

For Roon playback: Experiment with DSP engine to convert PCM music to DSD64. See if you like it or not. Test with different types of music.

Rekindling this thread. What are Lumin user’s experience playing around with the resampling filters, particularly when streaming Tidal? I have not spent much time experimenting but the little I have done leads me back to native.

I got to where I upsample everything to DSD when streaming from Tidal except MQA

How do you exclude MQA from upsampling?

If MQA mode is set to Analog or Digital, MQA will be decoded and is automatically excluded from user-configured upsampling.

If MQA mode is set to Off, it is upsampled according to the upsampling settings for 44.1kHz and 48kHz.
