Most likely I will get a Pass Labs X 350.8 amp in soon, and I’m looking for a power cable for this amp. May I know what cable work best for this amp? i cannot accept hard cable. Some PC like steel that I really hate. I have a Shunyata Sigma Analogue for my per-amp, it sounds nice but this cable's diameter is too thick for me. THX.

If Shunyata is out of the question due to size you might want to try the AQ Dragon.

Thanks! How about Wireworld Platinum Electra 7? It's a flat cable , very soft. I heard it sounds very nice and match with Pass amp perfectly. But the price seem to be very high...

The best easy-to-manage AC cable is Siltech Ruby Hill II, IME. I have yet to find a better built quality. Sounds good too of course.

it's your money but pricey wire is just that, pricey wire.

You don't need OCC silver conductors in your power cable; just get one of the (much) cheaper models which are basically the same cable with copper conductors.

I just purchased a Cullen Cable power cord for my Pass X250 amp. I should have it in 7-10 days. The cables have good reviews and are reasonably priced starting at $100 and up from there. Most have 3x10g conductors.

Second the Shunyata Venom HC (high current).

I can't imagine that one being any better than a stock PC .......

True. It is a stock PC. Yet some stock PCs are so thin that for I'd rather take no chances when I only have to spend an extra $16 ;)

Would I spend time evaluating if the sound makes any difference compared to a thinner stock PC? You bet, I would NOT, not for that kind of money.

Of course, one might argue that it could have unexpected adverse effects compared to a thinner stock PC, but that would be audiophilia nervosa going overboard, in my opinion.

yes , but the Op is talking about Pass Labs.......... not the case !

I can’t imagine that one still believes after market ac cables are snake oil. All you have to do is try a viable one like Shunyata.

Been there, done that.

And a friend who had all kinds of fancy power cables in his system, including very expensive ones, has reverted to stock cables.

I almost always could hear. I just replaced Alpha Digital with Hurricane on my Yggy and heard the improvement. Although not so much with replacing Ruby Hill with Hurricane on the integrated.

most of us are saying that all are not snake oil, rather the absurd pricing is ridiculous. Listen, if you or anyone else can actually show me what justifies some of these 3-5 thousand dollar PC's I'd love to see it.

I have a Venom-HC, a supposed $300 msrp I believe, you can buy it all day long for $175. Is it any better than the Signal Cable variety that sells for a third, absolutely not.

Bottom line is cable discussions on forums like this never accomplish anything. The majority of those that swear by high priced wire, do so with their own subjective bias. I'd be willing to bet that most don't even have a full and complete understanding of Ohm's law.

In the end if it makes you happy........ it's your money !
