How can I monitor my son's WhatsApp messages?

How can a parent monitor/spy child's cell phone or WhatsApp usage, such as text message, downloads, Internet use? Son is browsing questionable sites on the Internet and received text messages from friends that are unacceptable. How can I monitor this?
 
Ah the days before the smart phones... Oh wait, there was the internet... Ah the days before the internet... Oh wait, there were the 70s and the 60s.

Not going to be able to spy and monitor your kid every step of the way and especially not in today's world full of technology and social media that has become the focus of teenagers and "almost" every other age group.

Attempts to take things away or punish can often result in rebellion and acts of irrational behavior triggered by being alienated from what everyone else is doing that is considered "today's norms".

Talking to your kids and instilling good moral and ethical behavior is not easy, it is constant work but as a parent, that is really the best tool you have at your disposal.

Easy take phone away and monitor usage , i find yard work helps take up the time slack and or sport activities, like Judo , cycling et al ...
 
You can install Whats App on your PC and link it to your son's mobile.

Each time he logs in to the home network, you will be able to access his Whats App.
