Hot Peppers anyone?

Someone gave me a ghost pepper last week, which I'd never tried before. I use habanero sauce regularly, but the ghost is intense. Only tried tiny slices of it... it overwhelms your mouth.

That lady on the left in the video didn't even seem to show any distress until the second-to-last pepper. Wow.

I have a smoked ghost pepper and I can tolerate (almost) a pc the size of a match head. Those 3 after the Ghost must be death and she didn't even flinch all that much.

Now I wonder if they are hot later on :)

I love hot food, but I just don’t get the ultra-hot thing. I also like flavor and things like ghost peppers are just so hot I don’t get any flavor cues from them at all. Give me some nice fire roasted Hatch or Pueblo peppers and I’m a happy guy.

I'm with Tom too much heat becomes not enough flavor in my mouth and tongue and throat and beyond. Hatch and a few other green chile's offer the best of both for me. Throw in jalapeño and I'm complete.

I'd like to try ghost pepper one day, but on the other hand I don't want my wife to become a widow.

We grew ghost peppers this summer in our garden. They weren’t as hot as they could’ve been. I should’ve put them in a pot on their own with correct soil, and not next to the rest of the veggies.

I like hot food, just not the “nuclear” varieties. My wife and I went to the Hatch Chili Festival in New Mexico many years ago and had a great experience. We came away with a lot of good recipe ideas.
