I am looking to upgrade my amplifier. Currently run Luxman 900m with an Ayon Auris II preamp, Lejanklou phono pre and Rega Planar10. Magico A5s as speakers. I stream some but not enough to matter. I am considering a Gryphon Diablo 333 (no phono section) and a Boulder 1160. Boulder is used so we are talking same money or maybe little less for Boulder v Diablo. If I got the Boulder I would hang on to the Ayon for a while longer and maybe build up to a Boulder. Any thoughts on how the Boulder will mix with the Ayon or other gear? I am enjoying the tube sound of the Ayon and have considered getting a VAC pre next if I don't get a Boulder. How about the VAC and the Boulder? Am I over thinking this and the Diablo would kill two birds and maybe sound better. In person auditioning super difficult for me due to where I live. Listen to a lot of jazz and rock. Any thoughts and comments appreciated.

Lived with the A5 in our 2 channel system for several years so I have some experience with your situation.

My advice is take Mike's advice on the VAC and Boulder combination.

I like the idea of separates over an integrated unless space is an issue.

If I was selecting for my personal listening my choice would be Gryphon. I find it to have good bass and detail with what I'd describe as a more warm and dark character as compared to Boulder.

I do really like VAC but can't even imagine how that would mix with Boulder.

Like warmth with drive Gryphon , accuracy and detail with drive , Boulder ..!

Personally prefer the Boulder Sound . Both will be big gains over the luxman ..!

I have a Luxman M-10X/Esoteric Grandioso C1X solo driving Magico S3 2023s. This amplification choice replaced a Gryphon 300 Diablo, which had outstanding bass, but I sometimes found a bit strident with string music. The Luxman has been a significant improvement, a more balanced, slightly sweeter sound, and the C1X solo has been outstanding. I have not heard the new Diablo 333, which looks very promising based on reports. Has anyone commenting here actually heard it driving Magicos?

I have the Diablo 333 and A5’s and love the sound I’m getting. Also have a friend with Magico and Boulder. Don’t think you can go wrong with either.

Something that should have been asked when you say upgrade what is it you want to improve on from the Luxman?
