FIRST LOOK! The TORRIFIED DEVILLE SQ's Arrive! HiFi END GAME FOR LIFE.

This is one of the speaker I am very intrigued with. Steve Huff seems to think that its his destination speaker. How is the bass ?

My Deville are awesome, I’d love to get the SQ even though they are probably too expensive for what you get. To my ears, definitely destination speakers. Some might find the treble a little laid back or rolled off on the regular version, but it’s all there and I can’t stand bright speakers.

What is he difference between these and the Deville's. Are they a lower or a higher model? They appear to be a lower model at a quick glance.

They do not show either model on their website :dunno: .

Ok, I now see that Oswald Mills Audio does not show the Fleetwood products.

Cool speakers to have. IMO, sometimes getting better (more) integrated low end would outweigh the upgrades of the SQ. In the case, this would mean getting an entirely different speaker.

I have to admit, the speakers are beautiful. However, $20k for a decked-out pair of stand mount speakers is quite pricey. I do love OWA's plinths for the sp-10 TT's

Why do they take all this time to show you a video of an awesome pair of speakers but fail to play any music thru them?

They do look nice and they will most likely be Rare Collector Items because there are very few Ash Trees left after China sent us the Emerald Ash Bore. I had to take my beautiful PA Ash down a few years ago because of the Bores and they have all but wiped out the species here.

Who are you referring to? S.huff? He has to create more hits to the vids…so it will be upcoming, but i doubt we’ll hear much of a video playing music..you just have to take his word for it. Just like all the reviewers say for anything really.

If OMA..? They can survive without enticing the YT crowd. They are doing okay - im pretty sure.

Do you know any hi-fi YT channel with so many subscribers? :)
Nice way to earn money for expensive hi-fi gear :D

Steve Huff is wonderfully entertaining and can actually write, but If you've been following him for years you know by now that most of his purchase always are his destination anything...

Same time, next year it will be the new toy that is the destination this and that... Nothing wrong with that per see, but a whole big box of salt is required when you read him...

Love the passion though! :audiophile:

Well look like hes reading the forums cause he did make a vid with music playing through the SQs lol! There is a clip of his wife crying when listening with the Enleum; looks like this amp brought her to tears. (Gotta love Huff if you want some social media marketing!)

Anyway back to the speakers…they are an upgrade from a standard deville. But don’t let the hype over take what the standards do and are capable of. I think the Standards are incredibly good for the price they are asking. You will be hard pressed to get the type of dynamics, clarity and sense of scale from other speakers. I think those are the 3 big points you come away with with a horn speaker.

Actually come to think about it, you can do klipsch or JBL, or Zu and probably get the same dynamics, but with obvious different tonal qualities altogether at a lower price. If the build, where it comes from, and design are important to you too, then this is an option. Like I mentioned in another thoughts thread, its a practical speaker due to its weight and, if also important to you, you can customize it with different finishes. The ultimate finish for me, would be the Japanese washi paper. My wife would just flip over those in our house….however, my listening space is exposed to outside light and i dont know how much the finish would hold up over time.

Mine? If you watch the Fleetwood Video, I have the non-roasted color. Actually, it is the actual one that Jonathan is demo’ing with. He does a pretty good job explaining.

Thanks, Joe! Really one of those…’ehhh…to hell with it you only live once moments…’

My wife seriously gave me the stink eye on having this. I think that’s when we know we found something as an ‘end game’ component. More so because you can see the “end” in their eyes. Hahah!

Enjoy, pictures do not do those justice. For anyone in New England you can see those at Fidelis in NH. Awesome store, no tax... just bought a DAC there and they are great to deal with
