Esoteric S-05 Class A amp

Minimalist Hi-end Style. Exactly. I'd be happy with that. Although my M3's are inseparable and would be connected to the S-05. Maybe room for a master clock? Other than that, simplicity is bliss.
 
Curious how this amp would compare with amp section in
F-03A I'm considering the S-05
 
I just read the ES-LINK Analog description in the link. This is a current transmission interconnect system, just like Krell CAST, right?

Excellent Amp one of my Best purchases yet . As for a preamp I use a simple Autoformer Tap X basically for a volume control for my transinpedence phono stage . This is a system that only get used 2-3x month when I visit this home .
The amp does not seem to get very hot I was surprised .
I will be spending this weekend with this setup and see if I can post some more . But anyone looking for a lower wattage amplifier I highly recommend this one
 
The S-05 is rated 30 wpc into 8 ohms, I wonderif it would leave a user wanting more power. I'd love to hear one the website really makes it sound appetizing.

The S-02 is rated at 145 wpc yet weighs as much as my 250 wpc amp.

Those are 50 watts of Esoteric Class A power in the S-05, so I suspect they'd be more than sufficient.

I own two S-02 stereo amps, which are fantastic, FYI.

Are your speakers uniformly 8-ohms invariant over the entire frequency range? If not, then I suggest looking at the rest of the power spec on this or any other amp.

I've heard the S-02 has been discontinued. Any idea of Esoteric's future plans on amp line-up? I would think they might offer something other than the S-05 without having to go to the Grand series. I did hear a new integrated will be coming in Fall. Didn't hear or find anything on other power amps.
 
They may eventually replace it with an X upgraded model. However, as of today, it is still in the lineup. I have 2, they excellent.

I think they will definitely keep a model in that price bracket, same as they just did with the C1solo superceding the C-02X.

The above is a guess based on track record, nothing more.

I saw it on the website but a dealer just picking up the line told me it's not on the price list nor can he get one. He was looking at what to display. Could also depend on area and what might be in the pipeline.

Thanks... there could be a change afoot as well. It will be interesting to see what they bring out to logically mate with the C1solo in that price range.
