Hi folks!
I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here on the AudioShark forums.

My name is Mike Malley and I just started working for our host, Mike Bovaird, at Suncoast Audio in Sarasota, FL. I'll be handling the live-chat on our website, so if you happen to use that feature, you'll be talking to me!

I'm 30 years old and have been into high-end audio for about 10 years. I'm very big into analog audio. I have a collection of about 2000 LPs and pride myself in my turntable setup skills. If anyone has any questions regarding turntable setup, please feel free to get in touch. Any time.

I also have a modest digital system to listen to hi-res (SACD, HDAD, DVD, DSD, MQA etc) files. I don't believe either topology is better than the other. They both (digital and analog) have their place and I listen to both systems equally.

I'm planning on upgrading my system a bit. I'm very interested in the Harbeth P3ESR speakers, AVID Pellar phono preamplifier and the Chord Qutest DAC. Those are the first few things I'd like to get upgraded in my system this year.

The AudioShark forums are a great resource and I'm looking forward to joining in on the conversation. I also look forward to meeting some of you folks at Suncoast Audio!

My current system:
VPI Scout 1.1 with JMW-9 tonearm
Nagaoka MP-200 cartridge (nude elliptical, boron cantilever)
Schiit Mani phono preamplifier
iFi iDSD Nano LE DAC
Emotiva MiniX A-100 amplifier (solid-state, class A/B, 80 watts per channel into 4ohms)
Schiit Magni 3 headphone amplifier
Fostex T60-RP headphones
ELAC UB5 speakers
Audioquest cables

Hi MikeM, welcome to the bunch. Good to have you.

Btw, vinyl is all right. But I enjoy my digital too.

Hey Mike,

Must be confusing when the phone rings and they ask for Mike ... :) Whats your take on the Nagaoka 200 ...?

Regards

Hah! We're never going to hear the end of the Mike & Mike jokes! LOL

The MP-200 really is a well-balanced cart for a MM. Has a very accurate and tight response and handles busy passages especially well, for its price-range. I'd recommend it for an entry-level setup, for sure.
