Just heard the S40 a couple of weeks ago and they sounded very nice for the money. These were just taken out of the box too. I sure with a couple hundred hrs they will sound even better.

Forget to mention stands are extra. The Stand 6 retails in the US for $500. Dyn recommends putting spikes on the top plate but they also include little rubber stick on pads.

That is a great price if they are using the same mid bass driver as the Confidence C1
I always have had a soft spot for Dynaudio - good to see them in the news.

I think I'd rather save up for the Contour 20, but clearly Dyn has always made a good monitor for the $.

they are selling some beautiful s/h contour 30 and 60 in a shop near me at a very good price

I finally heard the Special Forty at an audio show yesterday and must say I was pretty unimpressed. It sounded like a small speaker with average imaging, lots of bass for the size but not the kind I like (precise and articulated bass).

In comparison the much smaller but slightly dearer Boenicke W5 SE impressed me much more.
