Devialet AES/EBU input with Berkeley Alpha USB

I am running a Devialet 400 into Salon 2s. Until today, I was using the USB input with an Audioquest Coffee USB cable. Today I made a few changes. I am coming out of my Mac Mini with a Wireworld Platinum Starlight USB cable...into a Berkeley Aplpha USB….coming out with a Siltech Classic AES/EBU….into the XLR input on the Devialet.

The first impression is an even blacker background, which I didn't think was possible with the Devialet. Everything also seems smoother and sweeter. Too soon to make a final evaluation…..only 30 minutes in, but I think the Berkeley USB in the system is a great addition.

I concur with your findings, albeit I used an Audiophilleo 2 with PurePower : improved / smoother sound from the D200

Inserting the Berkeley USB converter into a system is like making a significant DAC upgrade.

Thats great Bruce. I really liked the Berkeley Alpha when I used it going into my EMM dac
