The pre Ayre KX-R sound amazing and a friend have purchased the d0agostino mono with tis preampli. Now he will change the ayre re with a Dag pre.
the KX-R is much better vs. the Dag pre with the power ampli Dag and the Ayre mono too.
Ayre come with the mono "twenty" and maybe the full combo pre +ampli can be a better system but from my taste I prefer the Ayre system.
In europa the price from the "twenty series" is around 12% much expensive vs the "normal" serie but the extra money to have the twenty series (pre+ampli around 22k euro. extra) dont have any sense. mix the pre twenty and the "normal ampli is not a good match. (well good but not the perfect way..)
For the same money I will go with a pre Ayre "normal" vs the Dag pre! this is sure.
I consider the new system with fully Ayre pre and monos vs. the Dag pre and the Dag stereo....(the Dag monos are very very too much expensive for what they give you.)
