HI yes, I love the Analysis Audio Amphitryons. They are my favorite planars. But the trios do soudstage and scale even better, with more transients and dynamics. Analysis will be slightly better for vocals and violins and midrange and piano, but the overall thing will make me want to buy the Trio more. But I could be happy with Analysis too, and since it is cheaper, might be the ideal compromise.
For me, the must listen to speakers for any audiophile are a planar (Analysis), a few horns (Trio, Tune Audio Anima, Acapella, Cessaro - mind you, I don't like the bass integration and crossover of the other horns at all, but they teach you a lot about different sounds when you listen to them). Also, with horns, unlike with boxes or animals, the next in line from the top is disappointing, at least to me. I would advise against demoing duos and extrapolating judgement for trios.
And then finally the vintage like WE. IMO, I don't learn anything new when I audition different box speakers - a few are enough, and they are easy to come by, so everyone is familiar with that sound and bases it as their reference. Analysis and these horns are indeed a very different presentation. The Vivid was interesting, though nowhere a horn
