Atlanta Jazz Festival, in partnership withBlue Note and Revive Music, will present An Evening With Blue Note beginning at 5 p.m. on May 23. Theevening celebrates the collaboration between Revive Music and Blue NoteRecords. With the mission of bringing music lovers back to concerts,Revive has quickly become an outlet for presenting the diversity of jazz today.
The evening begins with Marcus Strickland and Twi Life. The multidimensionalgroup embodies the amalgamation of black American music. Next up is Otis BrownIII, who will perform music from his debut album, The Thought of You ,which incorporates elements of traditional African-American music withcontemporary jazz. To close out the evening, Grammy award-winning composer,bassist and producer Derrick Hodge will perform music from his 2013 Blue Notealbum, Live Today.
Atlanta Jazz Festival takes place in Piedmont Park, 400 Park Drive, Atlanta, GA30306. Admission is free.
