I am considering adding a sub to my 2 channel music room. I have a C2600 tube Preamp, a MC452 Amplifier, and Martin Logan Montis speakers.

The sound in the room is outstanding but I would love to add some more bass for those very low notes. What is best way to do this with my setup? I want to retain my very high quality musical sound, but I would like a little more low-end. I have a REL sub that is not currently being used so I will try that first.

Thanks!

I am not an REL guy but I believe they have good tutorials on their site to guide you on how to connect them (important) and then to integrate them into your system. That’s where I would go if I had an REL sub.

If no dedicated sub out on your preamp I was going to suggest REL as they are designed for high level hook ups. Using speaker terminals to hook to opposed to an RCA low level out.

No need for dedicated sub output. Your preamp Main Output has XLR (balanced) outputs and RCA (unbalanced) outputs. Connect the XLR balanced outputs to your speakers and the RCA unbalanced outputs to your sub. Then use the sub to set preferred crossover frequency.
