20 most expensive amplifiers ....

I had no clue they got that expensive, insane.

I had heard about most of these before, but those Pivetta amps are new to me. A cool $2.2 million for 120,000 watts of power broken out into six 20,000 watt class-A amplifier channels. It’s looming height of more than 8 feet, 3307 lb weight... I'm not aware of any local dealers for an in-home audition. Where do I sign up??? :skeptical:

I’ve heard about half of these. The Goldmund and the Audionote were my faves.

The list must be a bit old as it doesn't show the Relentless. Of the ones on the list I have heard the Naim, Krell, one of the Goldmund, Audio Note, Boulder, and FM Acoustics.

A couple of questions. Particularly on amp #1.
Why would you design and build something like this?
Where would you use it?
Who would buy it?
??????

$2.2 million is just the tip of the iceberg. You still need speakers, preamp, source components, room treatments, and cabling. A full system built around that amp could easily exceed $5-7 million. Yikes!

Gotta admit, some of the build descriptions sound cool; solid copper bar wiring, liquid cooled...
