    Re: They're here

    WOW is definitely correct!

I listened to the S7 at RMAF and without a doubt this is a truly amazing set of speakers. I am quite certain that if cost were not an issue that this would be an easy decision.

Mark I love the color and they look awesome in your room.

Nice matching color with the gear. One thing I forgot to ask while at Magico was do the S7s have a metal grill like the S5s. I assume they do.

    Re: They're here

Right out of the box, I'm in love with these speakers. I really enjoyed them at RMAF (my fav room, yeah yeah I'm biased), but hooked up to my Tenor gear and hearing them with vinyl has been a very different experience, I actually think Paul is going to really like these!. I have only had the smaller magico's in my room - S1, S3 and Q3's. The S7's are a pretty big step up in the bass (the Q3's have stupid good mid-bass so not better than them in that frequency range) and dynamics department. The scale and soundstage are very impressive as well. in fact I think I could go on on here, sounding like a typical dealer, so I better stop.

I will be showing these at TAVES (the Toronto Show) Oct 30th. The system will be:

    Aurender and PS Audio digital
    Kronos analog
    Tenor electronics
    Kubala Sosna cables
And a Massif Audio Design rack

    Back to breaking them in...

    Mark,

You are correct. I meant my post as a quasi-humorous-shot across another Canterbury owner's bow. In hindsight, it was in poor taste.

Though I have never heard another speaker that comes close (to date) to what I have here with the modified Tannoys in this dedicated room, I have no idea as to what the S7s (which I have never heard) would sound like if voiced here.

    My bad!

    Best,

    Jim

OMG totally not in poor taste my reply was just me kidding around too.. Well, the part at the end, IMO..

Nothing better than loving your own system.

My apologies, my winking smiley face at the end obviously was not clear. I should have used one of those emoticons.
